AtomStack Hurricane 55W CO2 Laser Cutter

Cut through 8 mm plywood in one pass at 80% power. Air assist is well-tuned out of the box and engraving speed is noticeably faster than smaller desktop CO₂s.

Came mostly pre-assembled, just had to align mirrors 2 and 3. Took about 40 minutes. Once aligned, beam quality is even across the bed.

Moved from an xTool D1 Pro 20 W to the Hurricane. It’s night and day on acrylic and leather. Raster engraving is also much smoother thanks to CO₂ optics.

LightBurn works fine, but Atomstack Studio still feels beta. Had to update firmware before connecting over USB reliably.

Enclosed chassis and built-in chiller make it suitable for home studios. Noise level low, fumes minimal with external vent.

Had a controller board issue, replacement arrived after 10 days. Communication was polite but slow — buy via Amazon for easier returns.

Price-performance is strong. Expect to tweak mirror alignment occasionally and manage water coolant level manually. Once dialed in, results rival pricier OmTechs.
