We replaced a benchtop fiber and a separate diode with the Duo. Shared focus and the camera make mixed metal + wood jobs much simpler.
Coming from a gantry diode at 600 mm/s, 10,000 mm/s galvo feels instant for logos and QR codes. Batch mode with the 16 MP camera is a time saver.
Autofocus on the fiber side is worth it. The 20W diode handles 3 mm ply well with air assist; for thicker acrylic I still use CO2.
Stainless black marks look crisp at 150×150 lens. Diode won’t cut clear acrylic (physics). For wood/leather it’s excellent.
Footprint fits our bench; ~25 kg is movable but plan a cart. Exhaust hose included; we added a purifier for indoor use.
Swapping to 150×150 for deeper metal marks took testing—different hatch/frequency. Results are worth it once dialed.
Door sensor shipped loose; support sent a replacement quickly but shipping took 9 days. Back up your schedule.
For our Etsy store, one machine covering metal marks and wood cuts is huge. Not as fast as two industrial units, but ROI looks strong.

The OMTech Solis Duo presents a compelling technical package, merging fiber and diode laser capabilities at an aggressive price point. Its high-speed galvo system and large work area are significant strengths. However, prospective buyers must weigh these advantages against the considerable risk associated with the brand's widely documented poor customer service and inconsistent quality control. best-lasercutter.com advises that this machine is best suited for technically proficient users who are prepared to undertake their own maintenance and troubleshooting, as it should be viewed as a 'pre-assembled parts kit' rather than a turnkey solution.
